♥️ If you’ve followed me on Instagram for a while, you might know that I am a bit of an airline snob and have a mad love for Delta. BUT… I am OFFICIALLY on the @southwestair bandwagon! (I realize I am a little late for the party 🎉 🎈)
As our blended family has grown to a family of six 😅 and as Benson is aging out of the “infant in arms” phase, flights were getting EXPENSIVE 😱.

Conquer jet lag with these simple tips! 🙌🏻
1. Switch your watch to your destination time zone the second you get on the airplane. Mentally adjusting to the new time HELPS SOOOO MUCH! ⌚️
2. Once you arrive, stay awake until your normal bedtime! ☀️
3. Stay hydrated!!! Drink water, water, and more water 💧
4. Make sleep as comfortable and as easy as possible. Use earplugs, an eye mask, and a sleep aid to help you if needed. I take these three things EVERYWHERE I GO! 🛌
5. Jet lag hits everybody differently. Honor your process and rest when needed! (I usually take mini cat-naps of about 20-25 minutes if I am feeling really beat on those first few days.) ♥️
SIDE NOTE: In my experience, kids adjust WAY easier than adults. But it helps to be patient, keep them hydrated, and stick to their normal bedtime routine! 👶🏼#skyscanneradvocate #ad

Our total costs for this trip were less than $600 (including our flights, hotel, activities, and food). Here are our TOP 9 TIPS so you can go to NYC for less too!

⭐️ 9 ways to take an amazing trip to NYC for less
1. Take free walking city tours. We LOVE @freetoursbyfoot.
2. Eat OFF the grid! Eat away from the major tourist areas. The restaurants are better AND cheaper. Our favorite restaurants are in the Bowery District and SoHo.
3. DON’T get the New York Pass until you have done the math! For us, paying for the activities we wanted to do individually was way cheaper.
4. Take the subway and skip the taxis. Google maps will be your best friend and can tell you exactly what lines to get on and when.
5. Use @skyscanner to price-track your flights! We scored our flights to NYC for only 14k points, round trip, when we saw a drop on @skyscanner.
6. NYC has some EXPENSIVE hotel rooms so it is the perfect place to use your hotel points and free night certificates. We used our @marriottbonvoy free night certificates and then covered the rest with some points. What would have cost us $2,000 for our room, cost us nothing.
7. Rent bikes and spend the day in Central Park! Use @groupon for your bike rentals! We were able to get our bikes for only $12.50 each for 4 hours.
8. Visit all of the free outdoor sites! There is no better place to people watch, explore the history, and take it all in.
9. SKIP the souvenirs. Most are overpriced and cheap quality. Instead, spend that money on a unique activity like a cooking class or something FUN!
