HOW TO HELP LITTLE ONES ADJUST TIME ZONES AND SLEEP BETTER ON VACATION 👶🏼😴🌏

Last week I asked in my stories what was your biggest concern about traveling abroad with your little ones, and the most common answer was SLEEP DISRUPTIONS😴 !! And I get it, sleep is a big deal because we all know that a tired, angry baby can seriously put a damper on things. 🥴

So here are some of my top tips on how to help your little ones quickly adjust to a new time change so you can have the BEST family vacation together! 🙌🏻

⭐️5 THINGS YOU HAVE TO DO TO HELP YOUR BABY ADJUST TO A NEW TIMEZONE! ⭐️

1️⃣ Help baby get as much light and sunshine as you can during the day on the first few days of your vacation! This will make a WORLD of difference as their little circadian rhythm’s adjust. ☀️

2️⃣ Keep naps to a normal, reasonable length. If your little one takes 1-2 hour naps at home, you don’t want their naps on vacation to be much longer than that (particularly as they are trying to adjust to a new time zone!). Don’t be worried if baby’s nap times are a little off, that is normal! 💤

3️⃣ Avoid napping about 3-4 hours before bedtime. This one can be tricky, especially those first few days of vacation but if you can keep baby engaged and awake in the evening, DO IT!

4️⃣ When it is time to sleep, stick as closely as you can to your bedtime routine at home. This will help signal to your little one that it is time to sleep. Using white noise and darkening the room is also REALLY helpful. 🌙

5️⃣ If your little one does wake up in the middle of the night during those first few nights as they adjust, keep things strictly business. If you need to change a diaper or feed them quickly, do it, but keep it dark, quiet, and as unengaging as possible! Give them a quick kiss and put them back to bed. 😘

Traveling the world is possible with your little ones, and honestly kids typically adjust quicker and easier than the adults! So back a bit of patience, use these tips and have an AMAZING TIME!!! ♥️ ✈️ 🌎

We just celebrated Benson’s 1️⃣st Birthday 🎂 🎈! He is the silliest little thing, and is the perfect caboose to our blended fam! We love him sooo much ♥️.

While giving birth and hospital stays are not my idea of a good time, we knew last year that we had several hospital visits and bills coming up. (Hello baby Benson 👶🏼and RIP uterus 👋🏻!)

So… wanting to earn free travel, we planned ahead to make the most of our hospital bills by strategically getting and using the right credit cards on those hospital stays to easily meet our minimum spends! 💳

The points we earned by using the right cards to pay for those bills are how we are getting 12 free nights at some seriously gorgeous hotels in Egypt later this year. (Can’t wait to see you @FSAlexandria and @StRegisCairo !) ✈️ 🙌🏻

Here’s the trick! ➡️ If you are going to use a card to earn points/miles, especially on big purchases, you MUST pay it off to get those points and not carry a balance!

So when those bills come
1. put it on your new card
2. pay the card off ASAP
3. get a huge welcome bonus
4. earn free travel on something that you have to pay for anyway!!! ✈️🤩
5. strategically cancel or downgrade when the time comes to avoid extra annual fees!

We're getting ready to leave for our big Europe trip in less than a week and I am SOOO excited!! 🌍 There is no way we could travel like we do without using points and miles! ✈️⁠

HOWEVER... we got these flights for $84 EACH, totaling in a now savings of $6,984!!!! 🤯🙌🏻🤩 (Not to mention that we scored some awesome free upgraded seats to Comfort+ because of our status!)⁠

Having a high credit score, being on top of your budget, spending smart, and traveling for nearly free is possible! I promise, if we can do it, you can too! ♥️✈️🙌🏻⁠
