Where to Stay at Zion National Park on Points (Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott & Wyndham)

Zion National Park is one of the most visited national parks in the entire United States, and honestly, one of our favorite places on earth (we’re Utah natives though, so we might be a bit biased). The towering red rock canyon walls, the Narrows, Angels Landing, the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. It never gets old, no matter how many times you go.
The great news for points travelers is that Zion is also one of the best National Parks in the country to use hotel points. The small town of Springdale, Utah sits literally at the park's main entrance, and it is packed with chain hotel options from Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and Wyndham. All redeemable with points currencies you likely already have. That means you can sleep steps from one of America's greatest national parks without spending a dollar on lodging.
In this guide, I am breaking down every major hotel option near Zion National Park on points, including two properties we have personally stayed at. Whether it is your first visit or your fifth, this is your complete guide to making the most of your points at Zion.

Getting to Zion National Park
Zion is drivable from two major airports. Las Vegas (LAS) is the closest major airport, at about 2.5 hours from Springdale. Salt Lake City (SLC) is about 4.5 hours. Both are easy to reach on points, as Delta, Southwest, and United all serve Las Vegas, and SLC is a major Delta and Southwest hub.
From Las Vegas, many visitors also combine Zion with the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Lake Powell for an epic Southwest road trip. The town of Springdale can be your starting home base for all of it.
Understanding the Springdale Shuttle
Before we get into where to stay, here is the most important thing to know about visiting Zion: from roughly March through November, private vehicles are not permitted on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive inside the park. This means you can either drive to the Zion Visitors Center and park (if there is space), then you’ll take the Zion shuttle throughout the park. Or, you can leave your car at your hotel, take the Springdale Shuttle, avoid the mad dash for parking at the Visitors Center, and take the park shuttle from there. If you will be in Zion during the peak months (May to August), we highly recommend considering the Springdale Shuttle, as parking can be scarce. However, when we go during the shoulder seasons, we can find parking at the Visitors Center, and we like to have our car right there if needed.
The shuttle bus systems in Springdale & Zion run in two loops. The Springdale Line runs through the town of Springdale along the main street, connecting hotels to the park's main entrance. The Zion Canyon Line runs inside the park from the visitor center up through the canyon to the Zion Lodge and all the major trailheads.
Nearly every hotel on this list sits on or near a Springdale shuttle stop, and I will note this for each property. This is a huge deal because the visitor center parking lots fill by mid-morning on busy peak days, and having your car parked at your hotel can save you a lot of headache inside the park.
Want to know where to stand to catch the most spectacular views of the canyon while you are there? We have got you covered in our guide to the Best Views at Zion National Park.

Hyatt at Zion National Park
Hyatt Place Springdale / Zion National Park
World of Hyatt/ About 20,000 points a night
Here is a piece of news that every points traveler needs to know: the former Holiday Inn Express Springdale, beloved for its prime location right on the shuttle bus route, converted to a brand new Hyatt Place in 2025 and completed a full renovation. It is now one of the most exciting hotel stays near Zion for points travelers.
The Hyatt Place Springdale sits in close proximity to the park entrance and offers an array of amenities, including an outdoor pool, two year-round hot tubs, fire pits with spectacular views of the canyon walls, free breakfast, on-site dining, a fitness center, and a convenience store on site. The lodge-style interior feels warm and canyon-appropriate, and most hotel rooms have stunning views of the red rock cliffs.
This is a brand new property in the World of Hyatt system, so points pricing is still settling in. Check Hyatt.com directly for current award availability. Given that Hyatt's award chart is one of the best values in the hotel loyalty game, this is a property to watch closely.
Shuttle access: Yes, the shuttle stop is steps away making it easy access to the park's south entrance without needing your car.
Pro tip: Since it is a new property, award availability may be easier to find than at more established chain hotels nearby. Book early, as Zion fills up fast, especially during peak season
Ways to Earn World of Hyatt Points
There are several great paths to building a Hyatt balance. The World of Hyatt Credit Card earns points directly and comes with a free night award each year. Chase Ultimate Rewards transfers to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, making the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® two of the most powerful tools for Hyatt redemptions. BILT Rewards also transfers to World of Hyatt at 1:1, which means if you use BILT Rewards or you have a BILT Rent or Mortgage system set up, you could be earning points toward a Zion stay every single month.

Hilton at Zion National Park
Hotel de Novo Springdale, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
Hilton Honors | About 35,000-75,000 points per night
We have personally stayed at Hotel de Novo Springdale, and it is one of our favorite options in Springdale, full stop. This riverfront property sits on five landscaped acres along the North Fork of the Virgin River at the quieter end of Springdale. Every single hotel room has an unobstructed, panoramic view, and there is not a bad sightline in the building.
The hotel features a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, on-site restaurant and bar, fitness center, and a seating area with fire pits perfect for stargazing after a long day on the trails. There is a general store on the property, which is handy for snacks and supplies. The subdued exterior lighting makes it a great spot for dark sky viewing as well.
One thing to know: Hotel de Novo Springdale sits at the far end of Springdale's main street, which means it is not ideal for walking distance to restaurants. However, the Springdale shuttle stops directly outside, giving you easy access to both the town and the park's south entrance. During off-season the restaurant closes early in the evenings, so plan your dinner accordingly.
The points range is wide (27K-70K per night) because Hilton uses dynamic pricing. You will see the lowest rates on shoulder season dates in spring and fall.
Shuttle access: Yes, the stop is directly outside.
Our personal take: Gorgeous, peaceful, and a fantastic points redemption in the right season. The spectacular views alone are worth it.

Cliffrose Springdale, Curio Collection by Hilton
Hilton Honors | About 85,000+ points per night
Cliffrose Springdale is the luxury hotel option at Zion, and if you have the Hilton points for it and you're looking for a luxury option, this is a great use of them. This is the best hotel for walking distance to the visitor center, sitting in close proximity to the park's main entrance, roughly a short walk from where the shuttle departs into the canyon. The lush grounds along the Virgin River, outdoor pool, hot tub, and overall resort atmosphere make this a great place for nature lovers who also love a beautiful hotel.
At around 90,000 points per night, the Amex MR to Hilton 1:2 transfer ratio means you are effectively getting outsized value from your Amex points. If you have been stacking points on groceries and dining all year, this is a dream redemption.
Shuttle access: Yes, with easy walking distance to the park.
Best for: Couples, anniversaries, or anyone who wants the best luxury hotel experience at Zion without the cash price.
Hampton Inn & Suites Springdale / Zion National Park
Hilton Honors | About 45,000 to 60,000 points per night
For points travelers watching their balance, especially families planning a single trip, the Hampton Inn is the smart value play. Located just 0.8 miles from the park entrance, this is a great place to stay for first-time visitors who want a reliable, well-reviewed chain hotel at an accessible points cost. The Hampton offers free breakfast, an outdoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center, and consistently earns great reviews for cleanliness and friendly staff.
At around 60,000 Hilton points per night this is the most approachable redemption on the Hilton side and a great location for easy access to the shuttle bus.
Shuttle access: Yes.
Best for: Families, first visit to Zion, budget-conscious points travelers.
Hilton Hot Tip:
Don’t forget that if you have Hilton Silver Status, you get your 5th night free on your award bookings.
Ways to Earn Hilton Honors Points
There are three Hilton-branded hotel options in Springdale, giving you great flexibility based on your budget and points balance. Hilton Honors points can be earned directly through Hilton co-branded cards like the Hilton Honors American Express Card® and the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card. The biggest transfer play here is Amex Membership Rewards, which transfers to Hilton Honors at a 1:2 ratio. That means every one Amex point becomes two Hilton points, making this one of the best transfer ratios in the game and one of the most powerful ways to stretch your balance across any of the Hilton properties below.

Marriott at Zion National Park
SpringHill Suites by Marriott Springdale Zion National Park
Marriott Bonvoy | About 50,000-127,000 points per night
We have personally stayed at the SpringHill Suites Springdale and were genuinely impressed. This is not your average airport SpringHill Suites. The property is exceptionally well-maintained, the hotel rooms are spacious suites perfect for larger groups and families, the outdoor pool area has spectacular views of the canyon walls, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay.
The points cost is higher than the Hilton options, reflecting both Marriott Bonvoy's award chart and the high cash demand for this great location in peak season. Shoulder season is the sweet spot for both availability and value. The central location and spacious rooms make this a perfect place for families who need extra space to spread out after a long day in the park.
Shuttle access: Yes.
Our personal take: Truly surprised us for a SpringHill. Great place, great location, highly recommended for families.
Hot Tip: This is a great location to use either your Marriott Free Night Award Certificates! Also, don’t forget that with any Marriott points booking, if you book 5 nights, you get your 5th night free.

Red Cliffs Lodge Zion, Tribute Portfolio
Marriott Bonvoy | About 85,000 to 173,000 points per night
Red Cliffs Lodge is the historic lodge splurge option within the Marriott portfolio near Zion, a stunning Tribute Portfolio property with a lodge-like atmosphere, on-site restaurant, gift shop, and bonus points earning through Marriott Bonvoy. At about 173,000 during peak pricing per night it is best saved for a large Bonvoy balance, but the setting along the Virgin River is breathtaking.
Best for: Honeymoons, special occasions, travelers with a large Bonvoy balance to burn. (Side note: We earn a lot of Bonvoy points, and honestly, this isn't where I would use them. I feel like there are better Marriott options at different destinations to get more value for your points. Since there are so many other hotel options in Springdale, I think I'd book somewhere else and save those Bonvoy points for somewhere like Bora Bora or Asia.)
Ways to Earn Marriott Bonvoy Points
Marriott Bonvoy points can be earned directly through co-branded cards like the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card. For transfers, you have three solid paths: Amex Membership Rewards transfers to Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1, Chase Ultimate Rewards transfers to Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1, and BILT Rewards transfers at 1:1. That is a lot of flexibility to build a Marriott balance from currencies you are likely already earning.

Wyndham at Zion National Park
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham at Zion Park / Springdale
Wyndham Rewards | Rates vary
La Quinta by Wyndham is one of the best value hotel options in Springdale and honestly a property that does not get nearly enough attention in the points world. Located about a mile from the Zion visitor center, this hotel has fantastic reviews, a central location within walking distance of many of Springdale's most popular restaurants, and sits right on the Springdale shuttle route.
The property offers a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, free hot breakfast buffet, a fitness center, and spacious family rooms that sleep up to four. The views of the red rock cliffs from this hotel could rival what you see inside the park itself. For families or budget-conscious points travelers who want to stay in the heart of Springdale without depleting a large points balance, La Quinta is a genuinely great option.
Shuttle access: Yes, the stop is right near the entrance.
Best for: Families, budget-conscious points travelers, anyone who wants walkable access to Springdale's restaurants and shops.
Ways to Earn Wyndham Rewards Points
Wyndham Rewards points are earned directly through the Wyndham Rewards Earner® Card and the Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus Card. Beyond that, Wyndham now has one of the broadest transfer partner networks of any hotel program. Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card® miles transfer to Wyndham at 1:1. Citi ThankYou points transfer to Wyndham at 1:1 via premium cards like the Citi Strata Premier® Card. Chase Ultimate Rewards added Wyndham as a new transfer partner on February 25, 2026 at 1:1, meaning the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® now work here too. And as of March 25, 2026, BILT Rewards also transfers to Wyndham at 1:1. That means nearly every major flexible currency can now reach this program.

What About IHG and Choice Hotels at Zion?
If you have researched Zion hotels before, you may have seen a Holiday Inn Express Springdale listed in older guides. That property converted to the brand new Hyatt Place Springdale in 2025, so there is no longer a chain hotel in Springdale redeemable on IHG One Rewards points. The closest IHG option is the Holiday Inn in La Verkin, about a 20-minute drive from the park's south entrance.
As for Choice Hotels, there is currently no Choice Hotels property in Springdale proper.

Other Places to Stay Near Zion National Park
Not every great place near Zion is a chain hotel, and the good news is that your points can still help here. Most major bank travel portals, including Capital One Travel, Chase Travel, and American Express Travel, allow you to book independent hotels and boutique properties using your points or miles at a fixed rate. This is a great way to use flexible points currencies to cover stays that are not part of a traditional hotel loyalty program, and many of the properties below can be found and booked that way.
Zion Lodge is the only historic lodge inside the national park itself, managed by the National Park Service. It is not bookable on hotel loyalty points directly, but it can sometimes be found and booked through bank travel portals. It is also the one option inside Zion where you can drive your private vehicle to the door even during shuttle season. Hotel rooms, semi-detached cabins, and suites are available, along with an on-site restaurant, gift shop, and horseback riding nearby. It is a perfect place for those who want to wake up already inside the canyon. Book far in advance as this fills up months out.
Desert Pearl Inn is a beloved boutique hotel on the Virgin River with floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious rooms, and a great cash or travel portal booking.
Bumbleberry Inn is a charming, affordable independent option in Springdale, great for budget travelers and often bookable through bank travel portals.
East Zion offers a quieter, more remote experience on the east side of the park. There are wonderful ranch-style properties here, some with farm animals, covered wagon experiences, and a much more off-grid feel. It is about a 30-minute drive from the main canyon but a wonderful home base if you are also visiting Bryce Canyon National Park or Sand Hollow State Park.
A Note on Capital One for Zion Trip Costs
Even when you are booking your hotel on points, extra travel costs always come up: park entrance fees, rental cars, dining in Springdale. Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card® miles are incredibly flexible because they can be used to cover any purchase that codes as travel, which includes national park fees and transportation costs. If you have been building a Capital One balance, a Zion trip is a great place to put those miles to work on all the costs your hotel points cannot cover.

Tips for Booking Zion National Park on Points
Book early. Zion is consistently among the most visited national parks in the United States. Award availability at some of these hotels near Zion disappears fast, sometimes 6 to 9 months out for summer dates. Do not wait.
Shoulder season is the sweet spot. April, May, September, and October offer better award availability, more comfortable hiking temperatures, and smaller crowds than peak season summer. Nature lovers will especially appreciate the wildflowers in spring.
Stack your savings. Use a travel rewards credit card or any of your co-branded card benefits for hotel incidentals, so you keep earning bonus points even on a points stay.
Combine with other parks. Zion is an easy home base for a broader Southwest road trip. Bryce Canyon National Park is about 1.5 hours away, the Grand Canyon's North Rim is about 2.5 hours away, and Lake Powell makes a stunning day trip. One home base on points can unlock an entire week of national park adventures.
I can't wait to see where your points and miles take you!
Hugs, Kam
