Park Hyatt Siem Reap Hotel Review: Luxury in the Heart of Cambodia (2026)

When we started planning our trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia, I knew exactly where I wanted to stay. The Park Hyatt Siem Reap is one of the nicest and most talked-about properties in Cambodia, and I can tell you that the hype is fully deserved. This beautiful hotel sits in the heart of Siem Reap, walking distance from Pub Street, the night markets, and the Old Market, and just a 15-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat. It was the perfect base for exploring everything this incredible city has to offer.

Originally known as Hotel De La Paix, the property was redesigned by acclaimed architect Bill Bensley and draws heavily on the artistry and cultural legacy of Cambodia. It feels less like a large hotel and more like an intimate, boutique retreat, which is saying something for a 104-room property. Here is my full, honest Park Hyatt Siem Reap review. (Hint: I LOVED, LOVED it!)

The Points Sweet Spot: Why This Is One of the Best Redemptions in Southeast Asia

The Park Hyatt Siem Reap is currently a Category 4 property in the World of Hyatt program, which means a standard room starts at just 12,000 points per night (lowest range) to 25,000 (upper range) with the new 2026 award calendar. For a Park Hyatt. Let that sink in.

Cash rates for a standard room typically range from around $300 to $500+ per night, depending on the season, so you are getting incredible value per point here if you are a little strategic with your dates. During high season, when cash rates climb closer to $500+, a 20,000-point night stay puts your redemption value at roughly 2 cents per point, which is outstanding.

We stayed entirely on points, and our total out-of-pocket cost for the room was $0. If you’re sitting on World of Hyatt points or Chase Ultimate Rewards, or BILT points (both CUR and BILT transfer 1:1 to Hyatt), this is one of the best redemptions you can make. It is, without question, a great value and one of the best ways to experience luxury travel in Southeast Asia on points.

Location

The Park Hyatt Siem Reap is located right on Sivutha Boulevard in the center of Siem Reap, at a busy intersection in the center of town. Let me be honest about this: the location is not the serene, tucked-away resort setting you might picture. The front of the hotel faces a busy street corner, and you’re a stone’s throw from a Burger King. It’s a city hotel through and through.

That said, once you step through the entrance, the noise disappears completely. The hotel’s design creates a genuine sanctuary. And the location is actually incredibly convenient. You’re within walking distance of Pub Street, the Angkor Night Market, and dozens of restaurants and shops. We ended up growing to like the location, because so many things are walkable, but the location is definitely something that you need to be aware of.

The Angkor National Museum is a quick tuk-tuk ride away, and the Angkor Wat temples are about 15 minutes by car. We received a complimentary tuk-tuk ride card at check-in, which made getting around the city center effortless. For a first-time visitor to Siem Reap, the central location was actually fantastic.

The Guest Rooms

The rooms at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap have been recently renovated and they are lovely. Standard rooms start at 376 square feet, which is generous for a city hotel in Southeast Asia, and feature king-size beds (or twins upon request - this was a girls' trip, so we got the twin beds), beautiful wooden floors, Khmer-inspired contemporary artwork, and elegant Italian marble bathrooms with a deep soaking tub and rain shower. The rooms feel bright and airy, bathed in natural light from the picturesque windows, and the overall design is warm, modern, and distinctly Cambodian.

If you’re looking to upgrade, the Park Executive Suite and the Rooftop Garden Suite are popular choices. Some suites include a separate living room, a seating area, and even a private plunge pool. For families, there are spacious 2-bedroom family suites as well. Whatever room type you book, the renovation has brought the guest rooms up to a level that truly matches the Park Hyatt name.

An Honest Note on the Common Areas

I want to be upfront about this because I always try to give you the full picture. While the guest rooms, the lobby, the main garden, and the pool area are all absolutely stunning, some of the hallways and other communal areas of the hotel do feel a tad dated.

It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, and it’s clear that the renovation focused on the areas where guests spend the most time, but I noticed it, and I want you to know. The main lobby, restaurant, and The Living Room Lounge are gorgeous, full of Cambodian art and lush greenery with a boutique feel that makes you want to linger over one of their speciality drinks (my favorite was the fresh-squeezed pineapple ginger juice).

The Pools

The Park Hyatt Siem Reap has two pools, and both are stunning. On the ground floor, there is a lap pool shaded by parasols and surrounded by lush greenery and lounge chairs. On the second floor, a free-form freshwater pool with lagoon-inspired curves, green tiles, and tropical foliage gives the whole pool area a resort feel that you wouldn’t expect from a city hotel. After long, hot days of temple tours at Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, returning to the hotel and slipping into the pool was absolute heaven.

We loved coming and hanging out at the pool after a morning at the temples or in the villages.

The Staff

I have to talk about the hotel staff because they were, hands down, some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in my travels. And I don’t say that lightly. The team at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap knew us by name from the very first day and greeted us with genuine warmth every single time we walked through the doors. It never felt scripted or performative. It felt real. The Cambodian people are incredibly warm and hospitable, and the staff at this property perfectly reflects that. The service was impeccable and one of the best parts of our stay.

Dining and Celiac-Friendly Experience

The Park Hyatt has three main dining options: The Dining Room, which is the formal restaurant on the ground floor serving French and Cambodian cuisine; The Living Room, a more casual space for light bites, high tea, and happy hour; and The Glasshouse Deli, which serves pastries, homemade ice cream, and other treats at ground level.

I have celiac disease, and this is always something I pay close attention to when reviewing a hotel. The Park Hyatt Siem Reap handled it beautifully. The chef personally took the time to visit with me at least four times during our stay to discuss ingredients, preparation, and how to modify dishes safely.

That level of attentiveness is rare and so appreciated when you’re managing a serious food allergy abroad. Breakfast at The Dining Room was beyond lovely, with a generous spread and the gluten-free Khmer waffles were outstanding. I also couldn’t stop eating the fresh fruit. I don’t drink, so I can’t speak to the bar or cocktail experience, but the food alone was a highlight of the stay.

The Spa

I had originally booked just one massage during our stay. It was so good that I ended up booking a second one. The spa at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap has treatments rooted in Cambodian healing traditions. The therapists were skilled and attentive, and the whole experience was great. The spa has seven treatment rooms, including couples rooms, and also offers a steam room and fitness center. After full days of exploring the Angkor temples and the Cambodian countryside, the spa was the perfect place to recover.

The Nightly Apsara Dance Show

Every evening, the Park Hyatt hosts a traditional Apsara dance show for hotel guests, and it is so well done. The dancers are talented and the performance is a really fun, immersive cultural experience. We ended up watching it twice. The show is preceded by a Buddhist wishing ceremony with candles and small floating boats, which was a nice touch. The fact that this is included in your stay (no extra cost!) makes it even better. It’s one of those unique experiences that sets the Park Hyatt Siem Reap apart from other hotels in the area.

Morning Activities

Each morning during breakfast, the hotel offers several included cultural activities that are a great place to start your day. We enjoyed lotus flower folding, basket weaving, and a complimentary short Khmer shoulder and neck massage. These small touches added so much to the overall experience and are part of what makes this property feel like more than just a luxury hotel. It’s a cultural experience from the moment you wake up.

Who Is This Hotel For?

The Park Hyatt Siem Reap is the best choice for travelers who want a refined, service-forward luxury but cultural experience in a central location. It’s a great area for couples, solo travelers, and families alike (the 2-bedroom family suites make it especially practical for families). If you’re a World of Hyatt loyalist or someone who uses credit card points for travel, this property should be at the top of your list. For a first time visitor to Cambodia, having a home base this comfortable, this welcoming, and this well-located made all the difference.

Although the halls were a little dated, we loved the rooms, the staff, and almost everything else about this gorgeous property.

Final Thoughts

The Park Hyatt Siem Reap is one of my favorite hotel stays in recent memory. Is it perfect? No. Some of the communal spaces could use the same refresh the rooms received, and the street-corner location is a matter of personal preference. But the renovated rooms are beautiful, the pools are stunning, the food is excellent (and celiac-safe!), the spa is incredible, and the staff made us feel like family. Add in the nightly Apsara dance, the morning activities, and the fact that you can book this for as few as 12,000 Hyatt points per night? This is as good as it gets in the points and miles world.

Siem Reap is a bucket-list destination that deserves to be on your radar if it isn’t already. And when you go, stay at the Park Hyatt. You won’t regret it.

Hugs, Kam
