Best Ways to Use Your Miles
1. Travel Purchases:
The most straightforward way is redeeming your miles for flights, hotels, rental cars, and more. Each mile is worth 1 cent through the Capital One Travel portal, making it super easy and flexible. (but read on for even more valuable ways to use your miles!!)
2. Transfer to Travel Partners:
This is a gem – and my favorite way to use these points. You can transfer your miles to over 15 travel loyalty programs, such Flying Blue (Air France/KLM), Virgin Atlantic, and British Airways Avios. Depending on the transfer ratio, you can really stretch those miles further. I also have students who like to transfer these points to Vacasa vacation rentals and get their vacation rentals for free!
3. Reimburse Yourself for Your Travel Purchases:
With the Capital One Reimburse Feature, you can retroactively use miles to cover your travel expenses from the last 90 days. This gives you flexibility and control over how you use your rewards. We like to cover our Airbnb’s this way!
